Twisty Updo!

In yesterday's blog post I said I would show you guys how to do a twisty updo. Corrie gave me the idea by doing a similar hairdo meant for short curly hair and I improvised. My hair is wavy, long with some short layers, and thick!

First off, get your hair damp.
My hair all wet and finger brushed.

You'll need lots of bobby pins, a few big ones but mainly regular sized ones.
Bobby pins!

Step # 1: Part your hair to the side.

Step # 2: Gather your top layer and twist it into a small ballerina bun in the back. Pin the bun with a few large bobby pins.
The front of my hair "gathered".

Step # 3: Grab a strand of hair from the side and twist it in towards the head. Bring the twisted strand around the head and pin it right by the crown of your head. Do the same with the other side of the head.

The "strand" of hair.

The strand of hair wrapped around the head.

Step # 4: Continue to wrap twisted strands of hair around your head until you get below the ears. Start twisting strands of hair just like before but go up and wrap the strands around and on top of the ballerina bun.

All the ends are a little crazy so in the next picture I pinned them inwards.

Step #5 If your hair is long as, or longer than my hair your ends are probably poking up in random spots. Just gently grab the ends and twist them in and pin them randomly in the middle of your hair.

Step # 6: If the hair that you pulled back in the ballerina bun is too lose for your taste go ahead and use a bobby pin to pull the hair tighter.

(optional) Step # 7: Put a flower hair piece or some other pretty hair piece in your hair.

Done!

I recommend letting your hair dry a little more than I did for this hairdo. It was a little too wet.
